KAAMORA: disbands and is no more

After much debate with the debate and individual reflection the plug has been pulled on the Kaamora project. The plug has been pulled during efforts to complete some new recordings of new tunes.

Not all could, after 5 years of existence, continue to commit to the band. Everyone is going their own way now, in different directions and musical projects.

It was an interesting journey and want to extend to everyone who has supported the band, here on Reverbnation, a huge collective thank you from the band and management.

This page will not be killed off immediately but do expect to see the page killed in a couple of weeks time

KAAMORA UPDATES

LINE-UP Changes

Many people would have worked out by now that Kaamora have been very quiet over the last couple of months. The hiatus occurred because both Aaron (bass) and Jason (guitar) left the group. The reasons why Aaron and Jase left the band is different and it is not our way to get involved in a lengthy explanation.

The band members and management just wish to express their thanks and appreciation for all the work that Aaron and Jase did developing the band and creating the sound of the first incarnation of Kaamora.

RUMOURS

What we want to address is the rumour that Kaamora is defunct. Nothing is further from the truth. On the contrary the remaining members of the band are working harder than before, to bring more chaotic, faster, and technical elements to the sound.

The band has much new material to resolve, heaps of jamming and auditioning to do. So it will be a wee bit before the band hits the stage again. The band wants to ensure that large catalog of tunes is created so they can take the best songs to the stage. The sound is going to be heavier, which means, some off ‘Lambs to the Slaughter’ EP will not be brutal enough. The band is not saying it will ages until they’re back, but when they do come back, some fans might be shocked. So be prepared!!!!

The band is positive that people will get into the new material and we hope to see you at the relaunch of Kaamora. If you want to keep up the news about what is happening with Kaamora then ensure you are following this blog, twitter or even make sure you are friends on Myspace and/or Facebook.

Finally, again the band wishes to express their appreciation and thanks to the people that have supported Kaamora and hope you will some you future support by turning up to a gig

KAAMORA FEATURED ARTIST OF MONTH

ANNOUNCEMENT: MYSTAGEMUSIC FEATURES KAAMORA AS THE METAL-HD FOR THE MONTH OF JULY

The band is happy to have been selected Mystagemusic metal hd band for the month of July. All the members of the band are so pleased that a USA site would select an Australian metal band.

It is a difficult business to get some recognition and therefore the band appreciates this honour that Mystagemusic has bestowed on them. There are lots of artists and bands struggling to get some recognition in a world where more and more people seem to turning their hand to making music: one of the outcomes of homerecording and the internet.

If you can spare sometime to check out this website you will find some excellent unsigned and unrecognised bands and artists.

KAAMORA IN MUSIC VIDEO

The news is out! Kaamora will be doing a music video with the help of Australian film-producer John Chase. Who is John Chase you ask?

Well, John has spent some thirty years in the Australian film industry. His resume includes films such as Mad Max, Evil Angels, Dalkeith, and The Break-In, to name a few. He has also worked on TV shows such as The Henderson Kids, Blue Heelers and the like. He was also involved with producing Kylie’s first music video.

The band is just ecstatic to have someone of John’s caliber and connections working with them. After the initial meeting Luke just got into it so much that he has produced a storyboard already for the next meeting with John.

Currently, ‘The Chief’ and John are looking at possible locations. It may transpire that Rivers again may come to the fore with their warehouse providing a suitable location.

At some point the band will need to call on Extras for the film clip. Hopefully, the band will be able to put on a show for those people involved. The ‘show’ may include some other bands as well: such as BerserkerfoX. However, the details about the free gig still have to be worked out.

KAAMORA IN RIVERS

Recently, Kaamora featured in a Rivers Australia catalogue as a follow up to the TV ads, which featured Kaamora music. There was wee bit of a write-up and some photos. It was great of Rivers to highlight the band but to note as well that Kaamora had changed the way Rivers will approach the music for their TV ads.

Rivers Australia is now offering bands/artists the opportunity to have their music used by Rivers in their TV ads or in store. This would not have happen had not a “bunch of self proclaimed head bangers from Ballarat contacted us to see whether we wanted to use their music in our TV ads or stores (Rivers Cat #12-09 p.6).”

Now, the opportunity exists for others to get a little bit of recognition. So, if you are interested then email a sample of your music to MUSOS@RIVAUS.COM.AU

It has worked for KAAMORA and the band hopes it will work for you.

RIVERS AUSTRALIA UTILISES KAAMORA MUSIC FOR TV ADS

KAAMORA are pleased to announced that the Australian Clothing & Footwear Merchants Rivers Australia have launched TV ads which feature snippets from our Lambs to the Slaughter EP

We have been blown away by the support Rivers Australia have given the band. They will also be featuring an article on the band in their forthcoming Catalogue. Yeah, we have to front up to another photoshoot but maybe you can used to that.

Apparently, there must be an underground metal collective in the Rivers Commercial production department. It is so unusual for a company such as this to use metal music that you get the idea they like what

The Narketing Director from Rivers said

""We use a lot of stock/royalty free music in our ads...we have this platform in terms of our catalogues and TV ads which we can provide to a band like Kaamora to get their music out there"

So Kaamora wants to thanks the clandestine metal heads in Rivers who are pushing the case forward for metal to get out there and be heard by more...horns up!!!!!
