DONT BUY PRODUCTS FROM BUFFALO INC!!!!

Especially those of us who are recording/producing music!

MY EMAIL TO BUFFALO:

DEAR PRODUCERS OF CRAP 3RD RATE PRODUCTS

About a year or so ago I purchased a HD-CEU2 Series USB 2.0 External Hard Disk with TurboUSB.
I have just been to your website and found that there is an issue with this drive.... too late!
I cannot access my drive and it tells me it needs to be formatted. I have updated the driver from your site as recommended, but its too far gone.

I used this HD as a back up for over 7 years worth of family photos as well as music and movies. The latter 2 can be replaced but the photo's cannot.
There are also quite a few legal documents I require that need recovery.

As I said, this drive was my back up, and a few weeks ago my primary HD crashed and burned beyond repair! I lost my main AND my back up in under a month!

I spoke to a supposed "customer" support service who told me it is not Buffalo's problem and that if I could recover my data then he would "EAT HIS SHIRT" .
GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!
I will be sure to blog this on multiple web sites and let everyone know NOT to use Buffalo products as they are faulty shit and they don't care.

I think that because Buffalo have admitted this is an error with the drive itself, and NOT a user error, that such a program should be supplied free of charge.

Leith

http://www.buffalo-asia.com/press_releases/ar_20090202.html

February 2, 2009

Thank you for your continued interest and support of Buffalo products.

Buffalo Inc. (Buffalo) has discovered that early firmware versions of its product, DriveStation HD-CEU2, may show unintended behavior in combination with certain hibernation or standby modes on connected PCs. In rare instances the DriveStation may become unavailable and/or data may be rendered inaccessible.

To prevent encountering such a situation with your drive, we encourage all owners of the affected DriveStation products (listed below) to promptly visit the following link (http://www.buffalo-asia.com/cgi-bin/support/download.cgi?country=ar&id=209) to download a self-installing firmware update that should fix the situation going forward.

In addition, Buffalo recommends that you periodically update your products to ensure that you are running the latest version firmware available.

Units that may be affected are the DriveStation HD-CE320U2, HD-CE500U2, HD-CE640U2, HD-CE750U2, and HD-CE1.0TU2.

If you have any other questions or concerns, please contact our Customer Service department through our web site or at 1.300.761.310 24/7 in Australia.

We thank you for choosing Buffalo products, and look forward to providing you with quality storage, networking and memory solutions in the future.

Buffalo Inc.
AP Sales Department
