Great gig!

Had a GREAT time opening for Buckwheat Zydeco in Sechelt Tuesday night. Sold-out house, very appreciative audience and LOVED seeing Buckwheat and his band!

I have never seen a more professional, hard-working band. The theatre where we played had technical problems: THREE TIMES the power went out right in the middle of one of their songs. But these guys didn't get rattled or upset, they just kept going acoustically, kept the audience entertained, and kept the rhythm of the show going. Stanley "Buckwheat" Dural is an expert at connecting with the audience; he made the whole thing seem like a party in someone's living room - a jumpin', rockin', let's-have-a-ball party.

And all the guys in the band were extremely gracious. Some other major acts who I have opened for in the past didn't have the time of day for a local boy like me. But these guys were an absolute blast to hang out with. When I finished my set, Buckwheat came to me backstage and said "That was amazing, man!", then at the start of his set, asked the audience for "another round of applause for Mr. Ron Campbell". Makes a guy feel pretty good!

All in all, a very successful show!

Gonna Be On The Silver Screen!

Just got word that my song "One Heartbreak Too Many" is going to be in a movie! It's an indie movie from director Chad Fitz, called "What You Can Do For Your Woman". Don't know if it's gonna be in your local video store, 'cause it's a low-budget indie, but I'm excited anyway. You can call me the John Williams of Powell River!
