    <title type="text">Artist in Residence @ Strathmore</title>
    <content type="text">John Kocur has been selected as one of the Artists in Residence at the Strathmore Performing Arts Center for teh 2008-2009 series.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;Artist in Residence Program&lt;br/&gt;In 2005, Strathmore introduced its Artist in Residence program, an initiative to help cultivate local musical talent in the Washington, D.C. area by connecting established artists with up-and-coming musicians. Emerging performers will be in residence in the Mansion at Strathmore for the duration of one month.  During this time, the artist in residence will perform for an audience each Wednesday night.  Each artists will be assigned an established mentor artist and have the opportunity to develop an audience in the area, perfect their performances, create an education program, and premiere a new work commissioned by Strathmore.
