Brianna's Myspace Page Named on "50 Most Majestic Myspace Music Layouts"

Here is what Mashable.com had to say about Brianna's myspace page:

Brianna Sage - One of the better sites to make smart use of white space, the profile constructed by Out Loud for Brianna Sage is really well done. The design firm has certainly shown a consistency across many of its creations that it’s hard to imagine anything dreadful coming from its assembly line. A complementary applause is deserved.

Click on this link to read the rest of the article:
http://mashable.com/2008/12/01/myspace-layouts/

NEW ARTICAL WRITTEN ABOUT BRIANNA!

Singing Talent Makes Time for Changes
A Woman's Quest for Finding Her Niche in the City, Or Creating It

Brianna Sage has a motive to stand out. "I grew up in Austin, Texas, where everyone wears the standard jeans and T-shirt. Putting on a dress and high heels is reserved for a special occasion." So the sexy singer moved to New York in 2002. "Everybody is unique here. You see people in evening gowns in broad daylight, and others in a business suits with tattoos and piercings, but nobody thinks it's odd. People get stared at for other reasons."
Ms. Sage is used to getting stared at after her concerts, and her level of fame is steadily increasing. "I'm planning my European tour right now - Germany, Holland and the UK are set up for the summer." A singer "practically from birth", Ms. Sage played guitar and sang in her family band when she was eleven. "The band dissolved when I was 15, but by then I had already started writing my own lyrics and was getting better at playing guitar." She recorded a demo, and was soon signed by Miles Copeland, who has worked with Sting and the Police and who heard Ms. Sage at South by Southwest, a Texas music conference. "He invited me to his song-writing retreat in France, where I worked along side Carole King and Mark Hudson." Yet priorities in the music industry changed after September 11th, and she parted ways with Mr. Copeland. "I learned a lot working with Miles, but people wanted to stay with artists they were familiar with, and a lot of new talent was dropped. But France was worth is, as I met my current producer there."
Ms. Sage didn't miss a beat. "I recorded my first album, In My Hands, and have since played at the Bitter End, the Living Room and Joe's Pub." Making it in New York isn't that easy. "I toured Texas for a while, where people are really into my music and I sell a lot of CD's at concerts. But because there's a new band playing every night in New York, people here get jaded."
Yet Ms. Sage is anxious to stand out. "I don't have a so-called 'style'. I like to mix things up, as in cowboy boots, a mini skirt and a blazer. I hate to fall into a category." Her creativity is not limited to singing and writing, but also comes in handy when shopping. "I try to steer clear of clothes I think others might already have, but occasionally I will buy something that is popular and slightly alter it so that it becomes mine. I sewed gold sailor buttons on this Banana Republic jacket I bought last season."
Her personality shines through her songs as well. "I consider it root rock. Some people might compare my music to Sheryl Crowe or Melissa Etheridge, or call it pop rock. But it's really just me doing my thing." Finding inspiration to her songs can happen anywhere. "I like writing with other people as it gives me a different perspective on things, it keeps me from getting stuck in a box. Sometimes the melody hits me first, sometimes the lyrics, but either way it's always good to get another person's thoughts." Except when it comes to style. "I think the coolest people in the city are those who don't really care what they wear. It makes dressing look so easy." Of course she knows that nothing comes that easy. "I've worked very hard to come this far," she says. "But that doesn't mean I'm satisfied. I will always push harder, and dream bigger. That's just the way I am."
- Cynthia Shannon, Downtown Magazine NYC
