Rising up from the past, we are so strong
gotta keep on moving up, if we want to live on

We all have got a great responsibility
to stand tall for those who gave their all
so that you and I could have the right to be free

The time has come for us to blaze a trail
that others may pass
rising higher so our freedom will last
we'll light a light so bright today
for future generations
and it will show them the way

Can't take us back to the way we were
we've worked so hard to get to where we are
and were we've been we've placed up on a shelf

can't push aside what we've done for ourselves
united we stand, that's it, and that's all

We have got to teach the children
they are our future, and here's a fact
they have strayed from family values
and now it's time to bring them back

you've got to respect your mother and father
and have some kind of faith, and you will find the way
and if you choose to do this and you show it with your life
