ROOTDOWN is a 4-piece band out of Eugene, Oregon, a college town still buzzing from the Ducks last football game. Its sound reflects the beaches of so cal but is founded in the rainy region of the northwest.  Combining elements of reggae, pop, rock and hip-hop they sing about what matters most to them. Their audience is as diverse as the sound ranging from young to old who love eclectic sounds and dance till the sun comes up.  ROOTDOWN falls into the “rock/reggae/hip-hop” category of band and genre, a well-developed musical culture with roots stretching back to the early days of Bob Marley, through the years of Sublime, and into today with acts like Slightly Stoopid, Pepper and Matisyahu.

Founded in the summer of 2007 by Paul Wright (EMI/Gotee/OceanAve) he envisioned the idea on a plane overlooking Ocean Beach while moving from San Diego to Oregon.  Tim Hemphill, a virtuoso trumpet player adds horns and percussion.  Craig Paulsen (Paul Wright, Shawn McDonald) plays drums.  Jackson Michelson plays bass and sings.

The new EP was produced by Jeffery David, mixed by Andrew Nast and mastered by Hans DeKline who Paul also met on, yep, MySpace.
