“The folks in Memphis who run the International Blues Challenge wouldn’t let Ron Yarosz try out this year. Yarosz is too good. IBC rules prohibit anyone from competing three consecutive years. So while top unsigned bands from throughout the world will battle again this upcoming weekend in Memphis, after winning qualifying rounds in their home districts, Yarosz will play a homecoming show instead. Ron Yarosz & the Vehicle will entertain Saturday night at the Monaca PNA Club. With a B3-organ- and harmonica-powered sound that’s slightly jam-band-ish, Yarosz & the Vehicle have drawn comparisons to Blues Traveler, Gov’t Mule and the Allman Brothers. Turning their sights away from Memphis this winter, they’ve been busy drumming up online votes for another contest, where the winning band gets to play the main stage at Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festival at Madison Square Garden. Q: I heard the song "200 dollar car" is a true story. Can one vehicle really have all the problems that you sing about in that song? - Billy from Beaver County
A: Well...yeah! Lol! I bought an old station wagon for $200 and it broke down on I 79 less than 48 hours later! It had tons of minor problems... But I didn't think anything major! The oil pump went out on the highway.... And the rest is history... Lol... A snow plow totally destroyed it the next morning!
