Bio
Romeo Champagne encompasses various styles we all love; Rock & Roll, Funk, Blues, Jazz, Groove Music, Reggae, New Orleans, and the list goes on. The grooves are tight and the vocals strong with a heady sound that is both unique and addictive, guaranteed to make you shake what you got. The fusion found in this band culminates into a style their own, mixing tight arrangements with what they call "improvisation with intent".
About
The band formed in 2007 when Danny Sauers, Chris Coalt, Josh Johnson & Rob Thaxton emerged on the scene after experiences with Heavy Weather, Sharon Lane, Noah Wotherspoon, Piney Brown and many other artists in the Midwest. Influences include Govt Mule, Derek Trucks Band, Greyboy Allstars, MMW, Jon Scofield, Frank Zappa, Bob Marley, Pink Floyd, The Ohio Players, and Romeo himself.
Romeo Champagne is a dynamic band with funky-cool rhythms and beats, driving ambition on the guitar, with edgy sax and cool vocals. They provide audiences with a unique sound and energy that produces powerful performances and eclectic original music.
The bands fire and soulfulness is bled from sharing the stage with Leon Russell, Blues Travelers, The Pat McGee Band, The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, John Hammond Jr., Koko Taylor, Lonnie Mack, Johnny Neal, Paul Gerimiah, Rory Block and many more.
Romeo released their debut album, "Guilt to Consume" on <ay 30th, 2009. They are playing live show at select venues across the region; be sure to catch this act!
