Q: Hi Rollie!..loving the tunes!...As a writer myself, I'm curious as to the genesis of your songwriting?....work at it or just let it fall into you....or something else?
A: Hi Chuck, I've been away for a while...to be honest, I'm not a prolific writer but one thing I have noticed is that its really easy to fall into the "clever writer" trap i.e. when you start off writing a song through an authentic emotional response and rather than search your soul for the "real" 3rd or 4th verse you resort to clever rhyming schemes or write what you think will be accepted rather than what was meant to be written. For me, a good song will you cost you a little bit...
