My Apology

It’s been a long time since my glory days we used to fly high in so many ways
I remember
When love was free and hair was long we told ourselves “The Man” was wrong
We were eager
To change our world and make it right we stopped a war but not the fight
Can you dig it
We tried to slam the door on their political dreams and we read all the liberal magazines,
We had the answers.

In 40 years we lost our vision sold our souls and bought McMansions
We’re caught up in this glitter and debris
We had two jobs, you got a sitter
I can’t help it made you bitter
For this I give you my apology

Do you think it doesn’t faze me, politicians driven me crazy,
They are evil
I’m tired of all their legal lies; They knew to conquer they must first divide,
Who’s your party?
Too big to fail to rich to care, our savings gone into thin air,
Bye bye future
As you work harder to stay afloat they spend my money to buy your vote
What’s the answer?
