Bio
Risa is originally from Forest Hills , Queens , New York but ended up in Manchester , England . Alumni from her High School include Paul Simon, Art Garfunkel, Leslie West and the Ramones , who Risa knew very well. After writing her first tune at 9 years old, she put her musical career in abeyance. Never forgetting her first love of music, Risa picked up her guitar once more and wrote the EP, Apple Tarte which received critical acclaim. She will be recording her first album, Glass Half?......

“Born in Queens, New York, but based in Manchester for many years now, Glass Half...? is the debut album from an artist whose adept versatility has seen her work range from performing in Broadway musicals to providing voiceovers for radio programmes and playstation games. Risa returns to her first love of music, ably assisted by producer Nigel Stonier, who manages to tame Risa's exuberant vocal performance to capture a sassy singer who delivers spirit in abundance. Sounding thoroughly fresh, Glass Half...? depicts influences of the soulful Motown sound, traces of psychedelic folk-rock, and occasional nods towards show-business pizazz. Predominately, it's a zesty guitar-led affair though, that manages to be both uplifting and laid-back.”

Order your copy of Glass Half..? , my new album produced by Nigel Stonier (Thea Gilmore, Waterboys, Sandi Thom), with the wonderful Paul Burgess (10cc, Jethro Tull, Joan Armatrading) on drums, percussion. It is now at HMV, Manchester and Vibes Bury.
