RIOT is electronic / rock duo, consist of Darko Andric (21), composer, producer and remixer, and Igor Despotovic (21), guitarist, both from Kragujevac, SERBIA.
DARKO has been producing music since 2003 under the name RIOT, but in the beginning of 2008 he decided to take his production and carrier to higher level, inviting a friend and the best guitarist in central Serbia IGOR to join the RIOT. Being a resident DJ in Kragujevac best night club, and performing in front of massive crowds in the biggest clubs in his city, music production was a normal step in Darko’s musical evolution and growing.
RIOT music, like the band name say, can be described like mixture of a lot of genres: full on, break beat, techno, hard dance, rock, punk, hardcore, and even hip hop. Developing their musical and production skills, RIOT music can be described as hard full-on dancefloor rock music, full of surprises, with twisted crossovers and breaks, explicit rap samples,heart stomping leads, guitar riffs and vocals – all elements which are necessary in today’s music production. Darko and Igor are striving to position where they will create their own UNIQUE style, unique sound and performance, which can not be compared with any other musicians, what is a quality only of extremely talented and big artists.
In his production career Darko has been collaborated with various local hip-hop artists, and recently he is invited to do official remix of one track for most promising metal-core band from Kragujevac – BoneYard. He has done remixes to such artists as: AC/DC, Black Eyed Peace, M.I.A, Sharon Phillips, 2Unlimited, Celldweller, Gorillaz, Dada and Sandy Rivera , Princess Superstar and more.
RIOT LIVE SHOW is combination of live electric guitar, played by Igor, live MC, vocals and keyboards played by Darko, and in some tracks live back vocals played by Igor, what makes a total difference of other musician’s shows, giving the people feeling like they are on a rave party and rock concert in the same time.
RIOT DJ SET, played by Darko, is also totally different then dj sets of other djs because of 2 things: Darko has unique NON STOP mixing technique, and he plays only RIOT REMIXES in dj set, which including RIOT LIVE SHOW on the same venue is over 3 hours of RIOT, and this style of performing is not only rare, it is unique in the world.
One of the biggest qualities of RIOT is also a strong and big fan base. Over 10,000 persons on Myspace, 60,000 persons on Reverbnation, over 70,000 times music listenings, over 10,000 downloads of RIOT music and mixes, over 4,000 comments and messages from people from all over the world (Mexico, Brazil, Serbia, UK, Japan, USA, Australia), demands for RIOT live show in more then 200 places in the world on Eventful service ... this is a valid proof that a new star is born and that RIOT will soon be one of the biggest electronic duo on the music scene.
