The Rick Hall Trio / Press

“There's blues and then there is THE BLUES - and this the latter! Great ballsy ,gritty bends and slides, bounces - this is magical stuff! Rick Hall got his mojo working!!!”

“Rumors were flying last weekend about a reunion of 1980's barroom-roustabout act Bowery Boys at Sully's, so I hightailed it down to the joint. Rick Hall was there with his trio painting the walls blue with his bright whorehouse-red guitar. Seriously, this was the reddest guitar I've ever seen. Hall's style comes off in terse call-and-response bursts and blasts; it is very conversational. He calls to mind a slide-less Rory Gallagher. I hung for a while, but due to a family illness in the band, the reunion didn't materialize...........”

“Hey Rick! I swear, I think if I were to walk into a concert hall and you were playing I'd recognize your guitar sound and style anywhere!”
