About
The timeless twang of Buck Owens, Waylon Jennings and Faron Young, has been fused with the raw, rock abandon of The Sex Pistols, Motorhead, and The Gun Club....welcome neighbor to RHOADES D'ABLO AND THE DEVIL'S RIGHT HAND.
In May on 2004, Rhoades D'Ablo had just left New Orleans goth merchants Rock City Morgue, after 2 years of relentless touring and 2 recorded releases. D'Ablo wanted to fuse his love of old school punk and hard edged honky tonk and release a collection of timeless gems that would tie the two musical forms together.
Statue Records released "Truckerspeed and Other Vices" in June of 2004...featuring members of Whiskeytown and Snatches of Pink on the 6 song EP, which marked the beginnings of D'Ablo's musical vision.
The band then embarked on a endless schedule of local and regional shows, only slowing down to record the follow-up; "Whiskey Bent and Hell Bound" the following year.
Due to a certain Hurricane Katrina, the band splinttered with D'Ablo re-locating to Austin Texas to reform the band and recording more tracks in Joshua Tree California. Featuring members of Queens of the Stone Age, Fu Manchu, and The Eagles of Death Metal, Rhoades D'Ablo recorded a batch of songs about his experiences in the aftermath of Katrina. One song featured here, "The Wait", is a haunting recollection of the pain and suffering that D'Ablo and thousands of other displaced evacuees had to deal with.
Earlier this year D'Ablo compiled songs from both releases as well as rare, unreleased tracks and is now available on lulu.com, called "The Diary of Booze and Cocaine".
D'Ablo's songs touch on themes from his own past and from people that have crossed his path. Songs that draw from an ex-drug addict's point of view, but without the self-righteous grandstanding that other writers seem to take.
The band has been described by Offbeat Magazine in New Orleans as "the real deal", Six Ten Split Magazine declared them " Johnny Cash and The Sex Pistols collide".
A self-proclaimed Hell-Raiser, Rhoades D'Ablo now spends his time with Texas Outlaw hellions, MATT BEGELY AND BITTER WHISKEY, as well as rare, intimate dates with RHOADES D'ABLO AND THE DEVIL'S RIGHT HAND...stay tuned for more chaos!!!

A recent reveiw found online from ask.com:
The first drug I ever experimented with was truckerspeed. It made my arms numb and my emotions very jittery. As the saying goes: I was as nervous as a long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs. Truckerspeed & Other Vices, on the other hand made me want to drink and get in bar fights.. and I'm a very non-violent person. This is real country music, folks. Not the watered down Republican shill masquerading as country on the radio these days. Booze soaked, angst filled bar jams that you can sing and drink too with equal abandon. This is pure Americana that will scare rednecks and entertain bikers. Put this on, get yourself a brew and try not to get any broken glass in your eye.
