About
Rhizomes is a collection of musicians who love reggae music. A reggae band that fuses together a variety of different styles over a solid foundation of "roots" reggae. The front man and main lyricist *Neil Willis* spreads a message of peace, unity and an awareness of our need to take care of the planet if we are to take care of ourselves.
Comprising of 7 fundamental members, the Rhizomes bring an interesting and original sound to the dance floor (or muddy field..!) deriving from an interesting mix of different influences. You can hear hints of Pop and funk from the bass player *Chris Owen*, a rock flair from the talented young one *Tommy Hard Rox* on lead guitar and KeysSFX from *Halium* (Hal Wheeler) bringing you roots reggae in a modern and exciting way. *Bob "Original Drummer Man"* on drums holds them all together like glue, with *Kashmir* and *Dean "Yoda"* filling the gaps with more effects, Djambe and percussion. We have also recently been working with a *Tace*; co-writer of My Roots, lyricist and percussionist, building the vocal harmonies and cleverly adding to our sound.
The Rhizomes are here to bring unity to the segregated, spreading a message of peace and love though our rootical music. If you're into music, you'll love The Rhizomes.

Tace Kennedy: Vocals and percussion
"We met in Guildford from 2004 onwards. We love the music and we love to spread the message of peace and love to all. Its a spiritual thing for some of us and an issue of how we live life. We see a better way through peace and we use our artistic musical leanings to get across the message that we are one human family- United not divided. Division is a perpetuated illusion, we see through it to the oneness of all things. Peace brethren, we are family". Dean Yoda.
