Bio
Reversion is a progressive/melodic metal band founded in 2004. Reversion recorded their first demo in 2006. They achieved lot of attention from several record companies so in the January of 2007 it was time to record the Hurt-ep. Playing gigs and promoting the ep intensively resulted in signing a record deal with Kampas Records in 2007. The following year Reversion recorded their first full length album King Of Deceit which was published in July 9th, 2008. Reversion has played plenty of gigs promoting the demo and the album. They have received very good feedback about their music and performance from both the audience and the critics. At the moment Reversion is working on a new album and playing gigs around the Southern Finland.
About
2005
In the spring of 2005 bass player Jaakko was added to accompany Samuli and Aleksi. Band didn't even have a name back then, but what they had was a promising pile of songs and shared vision of sound and thunder. Busy rehearsing during summer and fall. First demo was recorded in november, mainly to serve as a self-education and a rehearsing tool.
2006
A new year began with a search for new drummer. Whole winter and summer was spent auditioning for numerous drummers and finding a new rehearsal place. Finally it was decided to try collaboration with Jan-Erik. Again, summer was spent in rehearsing, composing and arranging. The summer was also the time for keyboard player, Jonne, to step in. First real demo was recorded at the end of the summer, with songs Mindstorm and Blue Flame. When the post-production was finally finished, Jan-Erik decided to leave, so it was again time to find a new drummer. This time it was a bit different, because several gigs were already booked, so we were in a hurry. Luckily using our connections we found Toni wery quickly.
Eight rehearsals with Toni (that's a song per rehearsal), and time for first gigs. On the side, the first demo was sent to numerous labels, etc. but nothing major was acquired, mainly "nice, but not now" kind of comments. The gigs were awesome, and response was excellent, which proved us that we're on the right track.
2007
At the end of 2006 it was decided to go to studio as soon as possible with this new line-up, and at the end of january we headed to Studio Tauko and recorded a second promo, Hurt, with songs Immortalized and Hurt. A couple of gigs in the beginning of year and after that rehearsing new songs and doing a lot of promoing and booking new gigs.
Hurt got wery positive reviews and several contacts were made by record labels and agencies. In the spring of 2007 a record deal was signed with Kampas Records. The original plan was to record the album in 2007, but due to various reasons this was not the case. So what Reversion did, was more excellent gigs during summer and fall.
2008
Finally at the beginning of 2008 Reversion enters Studio Tauko to record their first full length album. The recordings were not made hastily, partly due to other involvements. It took exactly four calendar months, but all in all something like 30 recording days.
The pre-release of "King of Deceit" was june 18, solely through Kampas webstore and gigs. Official release was in the middle of july.
