Looked inside for direction- questions lost in a sea of noise

Phantoms plucked out from existence
Sent out among the living
To experience the thinly veiled fiction
That we call reality

Whispers from behind the mirrors
Draped across the walls of hallways
Long since abandoned
Do they linger by choice
Or kept here by force, wishing to make
Their stories clear?
