Chill Bits Vol.01 opens the down-tempo/nu-jazz series of Oryx Music with nine tracks derived from collaborations between Dubhead (Renato Patriarca) and the Brazilian top jazz players Beto Paciello, Claudio Celso and The NuJazz Samba.
A true legend in the Jazz and Pop Brazilian scene, Beto Paciello present his splendid piano and keyboard playing on tracks like "Breeze" and "I Remember". He is featured on 100's of records from Bossa Nova to Rock and so on.
Other legend here is the guitar player Claudio Celso. Claudio has toured all over the world with Zimbo Trio, lived in New York during the 80's where he played alongside Jaco Pastorius, Buddy Willians and Edison Machado and has a history too long to cut short.
The last collaboration comes from the NuJazz Samba Band. Here, together with label partner Manoel Vanni, Renato cut, edited and manipulated rough tracks recorded by the band to produce "Hurricane" - a broken beat with a brazilian twist.
