About

RENAGDE

The Magick Rock of Renagde started in June 2006 with me (Curtis Bulback) and Terry trying to get some songs together for an open mic event held by Terry's friend Scott, who has drummed for us in the past. Okay, first you want to know what Magick Rock is and where did that come from. First we decided, while practicing some songs in Terry's living room, that we did not want to be labeled this or that type of band. You know once you label yourself it is hard to break out of that stereotype.

So I came up with the idea, since, we want to inspirit or invoke a sense of magick (early magic form in the 16th- 19th centuries using feeling as the drive for this magic) or magickal feeling into the music, to call it MAGICK ROCK. So we practiced 3 songs and that Magick was there and has been continuing ever since.

When I started to pick up the bass I played it like I am playing lead guitar it is my own sense of style to playing the bass. Terry plays guitar like he is going to war with the enemy. He merely masters the guitar for his own craft. Anyways, we played the open mic at Braemar's Pit Stop in early July 2006 with a well responding audience. We did this every week with the fore-mentioned Scott drumming behind us. We did this up until the middle of September 2006.

After that we had a gig coming up in December of 2006. Surprisingly, with the help of those weekly shows we had a set list of now about 15 or so songs. That means we can stay on stage for a least an hour or more. Well with the greatness that was coming out of us we decide to put out an EP (extended play) album called WREATHE.

This album has 7 songs on it. Around this time we recruited Mike Jarrow into our magickal trinity around October,  Scott is drumming on the album. So back to the December gig it was received well but with any starting band we need a bigger and better following.  Mike is a thunderous drummer like John Bonham.   So we got another gig March 10 2007. . Anyways that brings us to today we have a gig at The Park Theatre on August 18 2007.  I call it an event because this gig is very important to us as a band and what we want to achieve. We have grown as a band and our MAGICK is still with us.

WE WILL PUT A SPELL ON YOU WITH OUR MAGICK ROCK!!!!!!!!

INFLUENCES

Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Anthrax, Megadeth, Pantera Down DamagePlan, NIN, Korn, Limp Bizkit, Bruce Springsteen, REM, U2, Metallica, Leonard Cohen, Tom Waits, Joe Ely, Guns N Roses, Aqua, Rob Zombie, Linkin Park, System of a Down, Marilyn Manson, Motley Crue, Within Temptation, Dream Theatre, Ma Sugaa, Lamb of God, Symphony X, east Indian music, blues, basically music in general.

I think that we are the spirit of music in the form of these Magickal Musicians. I also think that we are continuing what our music idols started doing.

People have said that our sound is crossed with Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix and Metallica. I think we just play pure hard solid rock.
