There once was a time that life seemed simple and innocent. As children we saw the world with light dancing in our eyes. But as we grow older, we see how ugly the world really is, and that light we once knew so well begins to fade away. The songs we write are mixed with the sadness of realizing some of the hard things that life is really about. They are mixed with fighting to rediscover the light, and finally they are mixed with the joy of still being able to find some light in this dark reality. Ultimately all we want to do is return to light we once knew. We are about integrity and honesty in our music. We are who we are, nothing more and nothing less. We try to record and play live as naturally as we can. We do not try to please anyone or be popular, we just make music the way we feel it should be made. We are inspired by artists that feel the same way: Ben Harper, Damien Rice, Jars of Clay, Counting Crows, Ryan Adams, Coldplay, and Waterdeep. We don't desire to make a lot of money or be famous, we just want to do what we are passionate about and have dreamed about; playing meaningful, emotional music that affects people in a full spectrum of ways. We are Red Wood Rising, and We have begun our journey.
