MY STORY:
Hi, my name is Josh Wallace, AKA “Clenz.” I was born in Phoenix Arizona, and when I was three years old, me and my family moved up to Portland Oregon. Music has always played a huge part in my life, and it has always been my passion!
I remember when I was twelve years old, God laid on my heart that music was going to be my way of reaching people. I remember being in the word very much when I was young and had a lot of inspiration from God for writing my songs. I remember, it was almost right away when I began writing my lyrics, and I was very encouraged from the words God was speaking to me. When I was a sophomore in high school, I got a job working for the Portland Trailblazers! I was a team attendant for two seasons, and the money I made from working for the NBA I put towards buying my first beat box, it was an MPC 1000. After trying that out for about three weeks I traded it in for what I am currently using now, the Roland MC-909. I have been teaching myself some acoustic guitar also, so hopefully I can come out with some acoustic style tracks in the future.
When I was a junior in high school I met up with a man named Ron Hurst, who had a studio in his house. I started recording there and I ended up recording most of my stuff from his home. All the songs I wrote from when I was twelve years old were finally getting out to where people could hear them and many were impressed. I am currently signed under my Indy label CBP Records, and I distribute all of my music. I started CBP to launch my solo career, and CBP Records has given in a short amount of time approx. 300 CDs to fans/friends in Oregon.
In 2006, I released my first demo CD, it was called “Try This” ( Crazy For This Generation.) It had ten tracks on it, three instrumentals and the rest were vocal tracks. Then in 2007, I released an album that had fourteen tracks on it. It was a mix tape I made and one of my friends is a professional photographer, and me and him had a photo shoot to have some artwork for the CD. The album was self titled, “ Clenz.”
In April of 2008, two of my albums will be on iTunes, Napster, eMusic, Rhapsody, Amazon, etc. You can also listen to my music at purevolume.com, reverbnation.com, and of course my myspace, www.myspace.com/clenzbeats.
Godspeed,
Clenz
