Bio
Group born and bred in Fortaleza, Brazil, this consort of long time friends played for a few years in bars and clubs around hometown, investigating from jazz classics to 80's pop.
To combine the sweet and brave sounds of the harmonica and guitar was the starting point for the group. After adding components whose areas of interest include Jazz, Cinema, Photography, Bossa Nova, Surf, Hang-glider, Theater, Techno and Football, Realejo was set to depart.
Dustan Gallas, Danilo Carvalho, Rian Batista and Denilson Lopes take advantage of not feeling held up by any style and exercise the freedom that music itself provides and try to build scenes and sceneries with an influence from surprise elements.

Mixing beats and jazz with the Brazillian spice is the ground mark of the Northeastern Brazillian group Realejo. They investigate timeless classics such as "Tico Tico", an old Carmen Miranda standard and "How Insensitive", one of the most sensitive melodies one can come across when touching Tom Jobim's magical and special repertoire.
As for the original content, the group builds images straight out of cinematic ideas from deep personal experience, establishing routes stylistically related to samba as in "Samba da Vez", loungy improvisations as in "Café da Praia", up to Northeastern Brazil passages with acoustic steel string ventures with "Urbano".
Kinobox is the title of the album, Realejo X-tet is the tool, the listener is the vessel for those chemicals to evolve.

O disco cruza o universo da música contemporânea usando o novo "future jazz" como linha de intenção. A matéria-prima da maioria do repertório vem do repertório original do grupo, assinada pelo seu produtor Dustan Gallas. Como parte da sua particularidade, o disco conta ainda com as participações de Manassé de Souza, Juca Santabaia, Paula Tesser, Valdo Alderaldo e Benevides Jr.
Produzido pelo próprio grupo, gravado, mixado e masterizado utilizando a ajuda da tecnologia do home-studio, o trabalho já se encontra promovido na Europa e Japão, onde uma das regravações, "Insensatez", clássico de Tom e Vinícius, foi licenciado para Warner-Benelux e lançado na Coletânea Boss-a-troniq Vol.2, em julho passado, sob roupagem "new bossa"
O Realejo Quartet tem atuado como um dos representantes da nova safra de grupos de música instrumental na cidade. Apresenta-se de maneira constante nos clubs e outros locais que endossam o caráter "jazz" por aqui. Gravado ao longo de seis meses, a partir do fim do ano de 2000, "Kinobox" é uma viagem pela música de qualidade.
