In a time with so much room for innovation in the music industry, a producer/songwriter that pays close attention to the qualities of organic music is a breath of fresh air.

'R&B', born Brandon Hoffman, is native to Orange County, CA. Brandon's love for music emerged from listening to Rhythm & Blues and Soul music with his mother as a child. He began his own musical quest at the young age of nine when he taught himself how to read music using a recorder he played in his elementary school.

By age twelve he recognized his intense passion for music when he began writing songs and revived his artistic expression by saving his allowance to purchase his first Casio keyboard. Brandon taught himself to play the scales, leading him to learn how to play those Rhythm & Blues he loved along with jazz and classical piano styles.

Originally he was given his nickname 'R&B' by a local hip hop artist that Brandon produced. The artist simply stated, ''He is R&B'', referring to the fact that Brandon was one of few his age who not only had a very large R&B/soul music record collection; but also because he had so much knowledge and love for the genre of music. At the beginning 'R&B' defined Brandon, but eventually Brandon redefined 'R&B'. As he mentally, spiritually, and musically matured and overcame obstacles, the nickname took on a much deeper meaning than just a music genre. 'Reborn Brilliance' became the new definition of his alias, representing how his life had been reborn and renewed. And brilliance stands for what he constantly strives for as well as a description of his intellectual outlook witnessed through his lyrics and message.

In his late teenage years, Brandon became inspired by the unorthodox style of Marvin Gaye and the creative genius of Steve Wonder. He thoroughly studied their decades of musical works along with their lives. These two legends pushed him to embark on his life-committed journey of becoming a pioneer in the music industry who used his creative gift as a way to uplift and educate the masses.

During a recent recording session 'R&B' said in regards to the use of sampling, ''I respect and admire the track I sample. I prefer to get intimate with the song, giving it the time, love and creative energy it deserves to be a part of my re-composition.'' He explains, ''Disrespect arises when a producer just listens and loops the intro, similar to a hit it and quit it approach''

After achieving a B.A. Degree in Business with honors at age 20 from Cal State Fullerton University, currently at age 21 R&B continues to extensively study music. He has created a rebirth of his music from its minimalist to sophisticated and is now ready to share his gifts with the world.

Brandon's goal is to simply make good music for the people. He wants to supply them not only with music they enjoy listening to, but also music that can be inspire, influence, and uplift the people. 'R&B' is working toward establishing the point where he can reach the masses. While winning a Grammy or reaching platinum record sales would be great, he says, ''The gratitude I would receive from knowing my music positively changed or influenced another's life, mind, or soul would be incomparable to a tangible metallic award, be it gold or platinum.''
