Ray Roc's Biography

Songwriter, producer, remixer, and DJ, Ray Roc has over 15 years of history in the music industry. Born Ramon Ray
Checo the ‘Ray Roc' moniker stems from his original days DJ-ing basement jams when battling break dancers
would give him props - “Ray you rock!”

He's produced 3 platinum selling Latin albums with International Group Proyecto Uno and helped pave the way to
the now popular reggeaton and latin hip hop artist like Daddy Yankie and Pit Bull. He also has gone #1 twice on
the Billboard Radio dance chart with his electronic production (pka) The Roc Project. Back in the 90's he had
underground dance music success with then partners Juan Kato and Peter Presta under the Monikers "ROC & KATO
and ROC & PRESTA". In 1998 he joined the Big Management roster, who have represented and still represent some
of the biggest names in dance music history such as; Shannon, Tony Humphries, Tony Moran, Jason Nevins, and
Todd Terry. BMG Publishing recognized his songwriting abilities and signed him to a world wide publishing deal.
He has collaborated with top charting artist and writers who have created hits for superstars like; Celine Dion, Back
Street Boys, and Jessica Simpson to name a few. In 2002 he produced and co-wrote with writing partner Aida
Lorenzo the crossover hit single Never (Past Tense) featuring the vocal performance of Australia's Mega Star Tina
Arena, which was remixed by the (then To be) #1 DJ in the world Tiesto, the single led to singing with Sony UK and
Tommy Boy US. The album sprung two #1 radio hit singles, Déjà vu (its hard to believe) and “Never (Past Tense)”
breaking onto the billboard top 100.

Ray Roc has always had an ear for music he has contributed his A&R skills to an array of labels such as his own
Digital Dungeon and current ROCit Records. After the success of his crossover hits he partnered up with his
managers Gary Salzman and Joe Koppie to release great vocal club music on TrackWorks. The label has already
scored a few successful releases with CeCe Peniston, SoulShakers, SpeakerBox and Ray's own, The Roc Project.
Aside from TrackWorks he also has his own underground “indie” label ROCit Records were he gets to A&R and
showcase his underground production side. The focus with ROCit is to embrace the new digital world and develop
new talented Dj/producers and take them to the next level.

Roc has teamed up with a few producers like David Anthony and Carlos Rosillo (aka Hybrid Heights). Together they
have been remixing major urban artist like Janet Jackson, Cassie, Beenie Man, Gerald Levert and Alicia Keys to
name a few under the moniker of ROC & SOUL. He's diversity has led to collaborating with artist such as; Kristine W,
on her Born Again album, Magic Juan of Proyecto Uno on his Solo Album El Duro, and on the mega carton The
Brats off spring Rock Angels (theme song) “Feels Good (Se Siente).” In which he re-produced the Spanish version.
Ray Roc currently resides in New York as the Saturday night resident DJ at the Famous Webster Hall nightclub. He
also hosts a monthly event called Rotation with ROCit Label Partners Kevin Graves and Mike Bolante. He has toured
with Pacha Futura and has ROCed clubs in the famous Islands of Spain - Ibiza and Palma de Mallorka, but it doesn't
stop there he has graced the deck all over the world including the UK, Ireland, Greece, Italy, Portugal, Brazil, and
South America, With all that Ray Roc finds time to produce a weekly radio mix show called the RocProject FlexSet
on Area 33 / Sirius Satellite Radio and showcases guest DJs from around the world.
