Helder Amaral aka RAWAR was born in Oporto, Portugal in 1978.
He has been connected to music since a young age. A 16, he began DJing in a local club; at 18, he followed the road to heavy metal music due to the power and intense feelings the sounds had on him. One year later, he fronted his own band on vocals. But at the age of 20 he started to enjoy dark ambiance and more atmospheric sounds and started producing dark ambient music.
