“This Grand Rapids-based four-piece takes all the charm of nostalgic glam rock, bringing it to a local level and keeping it relevant. With wailing vocals from Kit Leona and shredding guitarist Ian Dodge channeling some of the greats both in his style and soloing ability, Rattle Candy packs one of the most energetic shows in town.
Spending some serious time in downtown Hollywood, Leona ha injected a west-coast street punk vibe into this act that is unique to this band and this band only.”

“Although probably unintentional, it’s totally sweet that the second generation of GR rockers to siphon the skuzzy sounds of L.A.’s Sunset Strip start their debut with a song called “Nasty.” Like The Nastys before them, who brought glam-rock street-punk to West Michigan, Rattle Candy is all about ‘80s excess, and unadulterated, even-if-underage enjoyment. Lead singer Kit Leona, who did a stint in L.A. himself, lets loose with swagger to spare, his soaring vocals even carrying the album’s only down-note: the mid-album 3 Doors Down-sounding ballad “Angel.” Guitarist Ian Dodge steals the spotlight everywhere else, his explosive energy rocketing off the rock-steady rhythms of drummer Nate Hodges and bassist Josh Cross”
