A piano-playing, singer/songwriter catching ears and eyes with his down to earth style and hold-nothing-back performances, Randy Bonifield gives his listening audience a bench-side seat every time he sits down at the piano to deliver a song. It is this musical spirit and passion that continues to draw people into the life and music of Randy Bonifield.
A singer/songwriter from humble roots and the grand musical heritage and hotbed that is Kansas City, Randy is a veteran musician from a blues/gospel tradition that has included fronting his own band and traveling regionally & nationally for nearly twenty years, leading a 40-voice regional gospel choir for more than seven years, recording and performing with some of Kansas City's finest musicians, and serving as a worship pastor at a church in southern Kansas City (just call him Reverend Randy...).
As an artist, Randy is an intriguing organic mixture of acoustic pop, jazz-influenced piano, soaring gospel vocals and blues-injected inspirational music. Drawing from the influences, experiences and expertise of his band members, all of Randy's musical endeavors create an eclectic mix of music fueled by Randy's passion for music and joy for life.
In all of his music, Randy's aim is to focus the listener on story and the context around us of truth and beauty - all that is good, true, noble, admirable, desirable - gifts given to make us more aware of what it truly means to be more human, more alive, more connected to what ought to be.
