NEW FORMS OF LOVE

It seemed impossible what was
being asked of us but we
knew -- it had to be done
It seemed impossible that they
Could be talking to us when they
reached across dimensions of time
But we knew them. We saw through to them.
Saw the mountains, saw the lake.
On that Full Moon, a reflection,
a deep memory stirred awake.

They seemed so far from us, but they
felt so near to us, and the
next day it felt like a dream.
And what they asked of us we could
hardly fathom it, but we
knew somehow it had to be done.

And it broke us, broke us open
like a bird’s egg in the nest.
So we pushed through, in the darkness,
getting stronger, growing wings.

Turn the calendar won’t you
Throw the cowrie shells they say
Gather all the things that you’ll need
It seemed impossible that the
time had come around and we
somehow found our way to the Moon

And we knew then how to give birth to them
Found the mountain found the lake
And it broke us broke us open
We gave birth once again

To a universe to a universe
to a universe to ourselves

Expanded expanded
ecstatic universe
