Well, if the world doesn't turn upside down next week, we have our first gig lined up for 2013!
Mountain View Rocks is produced by volunteers with the Mountain View Arts Society, an organization with beginnings from the 2011 Alberta Arts Days. The Mountain View Arts Society promotes and encourages a variety of artistic opportunities and events for the enrichment and enjoyment of the general public ... and that includes music of all genres. Following the great success of the mini rock concert held that September, the group decided that what this area needed was a stand-alone, rip-snortin' rockfest! So it moved the dates to sum-sum-summertime and set the wheels in motion for the July 14th rockfest! Mountain View Rocks promotes indie artists, to give them an opportunity to showcase their work, and to experience working with some of the best soundmen and lighting crews around. The benefits of learning from each other are enormous, and one that our headliner, Juno award winner Nick Gilder, fully supports himself. Other features at the rock concert include: Beer Gardens Food Vendors Artisan & Commercial Market Facepainting & balloon artists And more!
