DJ PRIDE 3000 / Press

"Pride and the Vanities landed their spaceship and parked it at Vamp'd to open the show for Black Christmas. It is always a treat to see PRIDE and her Vanities rock the stage with their amazing visual display of rock from out of this world."

“In many ways, local group Pride & The Vanities put on a much more entertaining show than that of the headliner. The group performed all originals and every song sounded completely different from the next. There were songs that equally drew from punk, new-wave and even little bit of funk. All these genres came together perfectly and blended with the group’s sci-fi image, providing an amazing set. In particular, there was a slow song that was simply mesmerizing. It began with a haunting melody from the back-up singer, then Pride took the mic and sang the surprisingly beautiful ballad. ”

“*Punk rockers Deadly Seven split and went their separate ways, but lead singer and former Crazy Girls dancer Pride promptly formed a new Las Vegas band known as Pride & The Vanities. Pride, who was Deadly Seven’s founder, is being described as a modern-day Blondie with her revolutionary electro rock band and its sexy sci-fi performances. Think Barbarella meets Blade Runner. They reached No.4 on the Reverberation Vegas Pop Rock chart with their single “LASER GIRL” and have just completed their debut album Laser Dream for a Dec. 1 release with producer Dan Walker, the keyboard player for Chris Phillips of Zowie Bowie. After appearances at the House of Blues and Moon in the Palms, Pride & The Vanities departs tonight to start a tour of Northern Nevada, Utah, Detroit and Canada casinos.”
