About Phil Lashley: Phil began his studies of the guitar at age 13 playing classic rock artist such as Beatles, Led Zeppelin and Aerosmith. In 1982 he entered the shortridge school of performing arts where he studied classical guitar, music theory, sight singing, music history and keyboard. Phil then went on to study music at Ball State University and was given the "young artist award" which is the highest offered by the university.
