THEY'RE BACK! Tonight and twice more this year! The Malcolm X Drummers and Dancers are a group of tremendously talented artists that grew out of the cultural experience demonstrated at Malcolm X Park and is founded by Doc Powell. WITH MUSIC BY www.Petehanks.com All the way from Seattle! Here's what Pete has to say: A ROADTRIP WITH DAD PLAYING CASSETTES SOMEWHERE BETWEEN THE 10th PLAY OF DYLAN’S DON'T THINK TWICE, IT'S ALRIGHT, AND ZEPPLIN’S GOING TO CALIFORNIA, COULD BE WHERE IT HAPPENED.I'D THOUGHT 11 WAS AN ADEQUATE AGE TO TRY OUT FOR THE BAND. “If it were possible to pull the song structure from Eddie and the Cruisers...the ambition of Whiskeytown, and the blue-collar appeal of Springsteen, Peter Hanks has managed to pull some of it off...The EP consists of six songs, ideal for summertime and driving with the windows down that will certainly have listeners tapping their feet and drumming on their steering wheels. Track 5, titled "Baby Come On," will thrust listeners out of the carefree nature found on the first four tracks as it offers up a heart wrenchingly honest vocal performance, to-the-point lyrics, and an endearing message that any singer-songwriter would strive to achieve. "Baby Come On" effortlessly takes this EP to the next level. Cries on Hope St. absolutely left me wanting to hear more from Peter Hanks...Being able to differentiate and impress in the wake of singer-songwriters popping up left and right is a remarkable feat and worth checking out.”
