“Seeing Penny Blacks on stage tonight was one of those rare musical groups where you watch them play, and not only do I think "this is good music" or "these people are talented" or "I'm enjoying the show" or whatever... but I actually thought "I wish I was a part of that somehow". I really hope this group stays together for a long time and continues to make great music and even get bigger and better.
“[Penny Blacks] live performances have received critical acclaim across the board The minimalist percussion, impassioned vocals and assortment of instruments (chimes, anyone?) give the band a delectable sound that begs a repeat listen...Ogden on his own is a solid acoustic guitarist offering bittersweet folksy ditties covering the entire spectrum of loves-gone-wrong - from that one person you just can't shake, to the pictures you wish you hadn't found while snooping on a certain someone's computer. Ogden sings love songs for the modern relationship, and he does it well...Penny Blacks are a force to be reckoned with, that much is plain.

“An engaging song writer, able to control your ear with just some aggressive strums of the acoustic and thoughtful lyrics...more than just another stripped down acoustic punk/indie artist.
Ogden isn't lacking for inspiration or creativity ...Unlike so many recordings that get sent our way, Penny Blacks makes me wish that I had the chance to see them play soon. They are the type of songs you want to bounce around to, singing along with that band and feeling like you were part of the show. Keep your eyes and ears on Penny Blacks.
