Wainwright's career has followed a fascinating path through the music of the 20th century and beyond.
Paul Wainwright & SaxSafari featured A-list players performing his original compositions and co-writes with Steve Duben. Plank Spankin was released in 2006 and received airplay on jazz radio, with thousands of downloads and streams. Stream here: www.paulwainwright.com/music.html
His group of many years the Big Band Trio was beloved for their distinctive three part vocal harmony and jump blues style. Their four cds won excellent reviews and continue to receive world-wide airplay.
He's played at hundreds of festivals and concerts including the Toronto Downtown Jazz Fest, Victoria International Jazz Fest, Palm Springs Jazz Festival, Las Vegas Jazz Festival, Radio City Music Hall NY, & Trump Plaza NJ. He has performed with Michael Buble, Kenny Loggins, Stevie Nicks, Martha Reeves, & Donny(Mr Downchild) Walsh.
His work with the Victoria High School RnB Band and formation of their professional group The Midnights paved the way for the program's many successes.
As a founding member of Victoria's Timebenders, he wrote the original script which won them the distinction as Canada's good time gurus of rock n roll.
