Tim Lee has been playing music most of his life. Labeled over the years as everything from power pop to punk — and several points in between — the former member of the Windbreakers (and Let’s Active among others) will tell you he plays rock 'n roll and that you can make of that what you will. Tim is the core of the Knoxville, TN band that bears his name, along with Susan Bauer Lee on bass and vocals, and Chris Bratta on drums and vocals. All three write songs and contribute to arrangements. The sum of the parts is pretty cool. The Tim Lee 3 are currently on tour supporting their new album, Devil's Rope. Paul Melançon plays music. Literate, moody, indie-pop music. He has been graced with an unusually gifted voice and a knack for writing well-crafted pop songs hiding disturbed and defective characters inside. His tools are the bittersweet melody, lyrical depth, and sardonic wit found in fellow artists such as Michael Penn, Neil Finn and Elvis Costello. When whipped into a frenzy, he can shake and pop like a drunk Nick Lowe. The Skylarks were formed in 1992 by guitarist Michael Hunter and drummer Megan Sexton, a couple with a lot of free time on their hands since Twin Peaks was cancelled. Their debut release, Suitcase City, was produced by Rob Gal (Kelly Hogan, Shawn Mullins) and featured the talents of Redneck Underground guitar hero Greg Smalley and Swimming Pool Q's vocalist Anne Richmond Boston. Joined by bassist and singer Jim Johnson from The Vidalias and Mississippi transplant David Minchew on guitar (Windbreakers, Primitons), the ’Larks are making their Red Light Café debut playing their trademark brand of “good songs and loud guitars.”
