Bio

She is simply known by a growing fan base in and around Washington, D.C. as “Patrice”. Sultry and sexy with Hollywood good looks, vocalist and songwriter Patrice Bowie is beginning to live her lifelong dream of becoming a major music star and entertainment Diva. The attitude and voice has always been there; beginning in her childhood growing up in District Heights, Maryland and continuing along the way as she crisscrossed the country from Atlanta, Los Angeles and New York while doing the grunt work of a backup singer seeking to climb the ladder of musical and artistic success in an industry filled with wannabe, studio-made performers. “Patrice”, who currently resides in Glenn Dale, Maryland, is no musical novice. She is the real deal as evidenced by her phantom indoctrination and performance on popular Radio personality Jeanie Jones widely acclaimed “Jennies Juice” Jingle that has been keeping Radio Station WKYS (93.9-FM) listeners grooving for the last five years. She has pursued her career by working with artists such as Mya, Sean Paul and Dru Hill leaders Mark “Sisqo” Andrews and James “Woody” Green. Patrice also worked on the Barbershop II Soundtrack.

Most long-time industry watchers who have heard her or seen her, believes she has that something special to make it to the top. Patrice, who is no run of the mill performer, is more than just another pretty face – although that helps – as she so aptly demonstrates on her debut project dubbed “Fingalickin” for obvious reasons set to be released in February on Independent Label Go-Go Rock Records. Her voice and on-stage persona, which conjures up memories and comparisons with the likes of Alicia Keys, Whitney Houston, Toni Braxton, Chaka Khan and Beyonce, takes her through a wide-range of songs including early releases “Close To Me,” Amazing, Butterflies and “Say Yes” – not surprisingly related to love experiences. “Performing is a high,” Patrice says. “It transforms me into a totally different person. I really get into what I am doing. It’s a great feeling.”

As Patrice, who describes her music as a cross between Pop, Hip-Hop and Alternative, says she receives a lot of satisfaction in singing about “real life situations.” Confident and enjoyably sassy, Patrice enjoys the shock value and controversy that the frankness of her fresh new sound brings to listeners. “I say things that women want to say, but are afraid to say. I let them know it’s okay to be the aggressor” in relationships. Patrice wrote the songs on Fingalickin’ while producer-manager Ted Pindell, an industry veteran, laid down the tracks which seem to fit her vocal style perfectly. Like a hot new song heading up the charts, Patrice understands she must exercise patience, but she believes cream always rises to the top. Music is her passion and there is nothing that makes her fill better than churning out beautiful melodies that pierce the soul, the way idol Donnie Hathaway did with his music during the 70’s. “I have a vision of where I want to go in life and my music is going to take me there.”
