Bio

In a culture of predictability and contrived emotion, honesty is the currency by which art is valued. Paper Mache has built its reputation on lyrical substance and continues to build a national fan base through extensive touring and inventive promotion. This Washington-based five-piece creates a continually evolving sound that embraces the acoustic sparsity of acts like Bright Eyes as well as the rich textures of bands like Death Cab for Cutie and Brand New.

About

In a culture of predictability and contrived emotion, honesty is the currency by which art is valued. Paper Mache has built its reputation on lyrical substance and continues to build a national fan base through extensive touring and inventive promotion. This Washington-based three-piece creates a continually evolving sound that embraces the acoustic sparsity of acts like Bright Eyes as well as the rich textures of bands like Death Cab for Cutie and Brand New.

Paper Mache is currently touring in support of their full-length album "Easier to Lose," a collection of songs that challenge the definition of struggle, success, life, and loss. The album shows a promising maturity and flirts with a polished sound most indie bands fear. The tour will span over 20 states and further extend the reach of this truly unique group.

Founding the band in 2006, Chelsea Seth has been the engine of songwriting and perseverance that has kept Paper Mache in constant motion. His uncompromising lyrics reveal a sincerity that goes deeper than simply writing music for anyone who will buy it. Guitarist Chris Rindal has played many roles in the band, rotating instruments through lineup changes in the last few years. Rindal and Seth entered the studio as a two piece and enlisted the help of producer Joe Varela while recording "Easier to Lose." Through the process of collaborating on the record, Varela saw great potential in the band and put his production business on hold to tour as the drummer.

So far, they've impressed audiences across the country with with their powerful performance and created the kind of online buzz that exceeds many major label acts. After considering the impossible drives, the growing family of dedicated fans, and several near-death experiences in the tour van, it becomes obvious... Nothing can stand between this music and those who love it.
