The Pan American Symphony Orchestra celebrates the Master of Nuevo Tango, Astor Piazzolla, in a show of his music and the music of his contemporaries. Piazzolla took traditional tango music and added elements of jazz and classical music, then expanded on the instruments that typically make up a tango ensemble, all the while keeping the strong melodies and the rhythms of traditional tango. The result is tango that swings, that moves your heart, that captures your imagination! A show you won’t want to miss with the area’s hottest new tango dancers, Pablo Fontana and Svelana, and Latin Grammy winner, Octavio Brunetti, on piano. 8:00 PM on Saturday, October 22, 2011. Special Offer for Montgomery College Students – HALF PRICE! Only $15 admission with MC student ID. Tickets in advance with a major credit card by calling 240-242-8032 or online through PayPal at www.panamsymphony.org Or at the door of the Montgomery College Takoma Park Cultural Arts Center.
