““I titled the album People Like Me because my music will appeal to those traditional country music fans--like me!" he explains. "My goal is to make true country music come alive in the modern age through my songs." “The CD is actually surprisingly great, and I definitely don't say that lightly. It's a toe-tapping mix of love songs, songs about jailed friends, Jack Daniels, cheating, Waylon Jennings - you know, the standard country music fare. And yes, I mean that affectionately. Most of the CDs I get anymore are Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood clones. That's not bad, but it's hard to beat the original pop-country princesses. It's nice to occasionally get a CD that is sort of a throwback to early Garth, Tracy Lawrence, etc. - enjoyable without trying too hard to sound country. It just is country. ”

“With a voice that consistently reminds of Tracy Lawrence, Justin Haigh’s People Like Me delivers up an incredible collection of 12 exceptional neo- traditional songs that make it easily one of the top ten albums thus far this year. With a collection of writers on board that any artist would cross deserts for- Randy Houser, Jerrod Niemann, Bobby Pinson, Kelley Lovelace, Erv Woolsey (George Strait’s manager), Mary Gauthier, and Jamey Johnson- the tracks worth mentioning are almost too many. “Monahans” and “In Jail” are detailed evocatively with a just enough humor to be stars. “All My Best Friends (Are Behind Bars), is solid country jukebox gold. Indie Texas music isn't supposed to be this good.”

"Haigh has got to be one of the best kept secrets in contemporary country music today."

“When you have talent, the potential for a good album is high. When you surround yourself with award-winning talent, a great album is eminent. Justin Haigh’s PEOPLE LIKE ME boasts an extensive list of Texas Music Awards recipients. Three songs are written by two-time Song of the Year writer, Kevin Higgins. One track is penned by TMA nominee Jeff Posey and 2006 Producer of the Year, John M. Greenberg. Haigh’s producer is Lew Curatolo, a MyTexasMusic Industry member who produced the 2006 Album of the Year by the Dust Devils who received the 2006 award for Vocal Group of the Year. Haigh now joins Higgins, Posey, Greenberg, and the Dust Devils as a member of the Academy of Texas Music, Inc. and you should look for his name in the 2012 award nominations. Haigh’s voice is award-worthy, as is the production, the album, and a good number of the musicians and songs on the disc. Disappointment will reign if Haigh fails to get a nod in the 2012 Texas Music Awards process.”

“Newcomer Justin Haigh opens his new album with a terrific single, “All My Best Friends.” His original tune pulls together classic country word play (“all my best friends are behind bars”), a clever roll of call brands and throwback twang that’s heavy on the fiddle and steel. His spirit friends visit a second time for the mid-tempo two-step blues, “Jack Daniels on Ice,” a song that finds Haigh sitting out a chilly situation at home in the welcoming confines of his local bar. Raised on a South Dakota ranch, Haigh was steeped in Merle, Waylon, Lefty and Hank from a young age, and after a restless adolescence he resettled in Texas. Haigh’s working class roots are proudly declared and staunchly defended in the album’s title track, and nods to Waylon Jennings with some terrific guitar figures...”

“If you missed Justin Haigh’s first album — and possibly even if you didn’t — People Like Me is liable to set your head spinning. Sophomore albums by little-known artists on small-time Texas indie labels (Apache Ranch Records’ only other act is Nashville Star Season 1 runner-up John Arthur Martinez) aren’t supposed to be this consistently wonderful.”

“This record is pure country, from start to finish. Among the 12 songs included here, 3 were written by Texas’ own Kevin Higgins. Monahans, In Jail, and Gathering Dust each are exemplary songs that Justin does a great job making his own. You can listen to virtually any one of these songs and from these alone know you are hearing something very special. Justin’s vocal presence is strong and refreshing, allowing the lyrics to flow providing the listener with a magical journey. Many artists can take good material and make it sound plain by going through the motions. Justin has taken good material, and made it shine even brighter.”

“From the opening notes of “All My Best Friends Are In Jail” we know that newcomer Justin Haigh (rhymes with vague) is from the same neo-traditional school of country music that Chris Young and Sunny Sweeney and Josh Turner also graduated from. That doesn’t mean that, like the other artists mentioned, Justin Haigh is stuck in some country music time warp for his music is thoroughly modern. The opening track, one of two song solely written by Justin, features crisp fiddles and quite honestly, it’s the perfect song to get you in the right mood to get into People Like Me. The lyrics are about good ‘ol boys who take having fun to the extreme.”

“With great stories end to end; references to lemon Dr. Peppers, Merle, ZZ Top, Waylon and all those bottled spirits who comfort him in his times of anguish; plus the weight of experience the artist brings to his music, the world limned on People Like Me sounds like the world a lot of other people know well and live in every day. That’s country, and Justin Haigh is right on time to stand for what’s good and true about this music.”

“Drinking, Waylon and Jail... does it get much more country than that? Justin Haigh gives the listener all that and more. With vocals that remind me of a young Tracey Lawrence, and a devotion to all things country that brings Craig Morgan to mind Haigh delivers a thoroughly country album for traditionalists and new country fans alike. A true toe- tapping pleasure of a disc. "In Jail" is easily my favorite song of the album, telling the story of what love can make you do. A funny cautionary tale. The title track "People Like Me" is a up-tempo blast about knowing who you are and not caring what others think about it. It's about everything country and people like YOU. "The Leaving In Your Eyes" presents a sad melody in a beautiful tune reminiscent of Hank Williams. Overall a great album. Should do well at country radio, in the clubs and on your ipod!”

“Justin Haigh - "All My Best Friends (Are Behind Bars)" Writer: J. Haigh; Producer: Lew Curatolo; Publisher: Apache, ASCAP; Apache Ranch Records(www.justinhaigh.com) "He has a really cool voice, full of drawled resonance and honky-tonk authority. The drinking song is as cool as its title implies, and the band is country, country, country. An absolute winner."”

“Traditional Country Crooner Justin Haigh Gets Down to Business With his New Friends Nashville, TN – Texas-based country singer-songwriter Justin Haigh made the rounds recently in Nashville and got to rub elbows with some true Nashville legends: Little Jimmy Dickens, Ralph Emery and John Anderson. “What can I say except this is just how I dreamed it would be. Ralph Emery was a true gentleman and our lunch at Noshville (a music industry haunt/deli on Music Row) is etched in my memory forever. And John Anderson couldn’t have been any nicer. He invited me on his bus to meet his band and crew and even introduced me to Little Jimmy Dickens backstage at the Opry. The whole experience made me want to be even more involved in the country industry; what a huge moment this was for me,” he concludes. Justin Haigh’s debut single and video is “All My Best Friends (Are Behind Bars)” and the album People Like Me is slated for a June 7, 2011 release on Apache Ranch Records. ”

“Brady Texas honky tonker Justin Haigh is going to hit the big time. This talented artist will appeal to country music fans everywhere, and his song “A Real Good Year For Beer” reflects what I hear on Main Street these days. Traditional country music fans appreciate his cover of Merle Haggard’s “Let Chase Each Other Around The Room Tonight” on his Myspace page. “Monahans” is a great country song with cowboy flavor. The song may not rock like “A Real Good Year For Beer” but many cowboy and western songs slow down to tell a story. Ian Tyson, Dan Roberts, and Red Steagall do it too. Words in the song “Don’t bother me, I’m listening to Merle” is something we all think of saying. Justin Haigh is superb with “Waylon” as his words paint a picture and the song brings to life Justin’s tribute to Waylon Jennings. “A Real Good Year For Beer” is written by John Arthur Martinez. I know Martinez is talented and we featured him in an article a while back.”

“With a huge following and an extremely well produced group of songs under his belt, Haigh is definitely on the “one to watch” list of new artists. And with influences in the business that stretch from Merle Haggard to Metallica, it’s easy to see how he has been able to tap into his own imagination to come up with some very powerful and vivid material to record. His songs are lined with a plaintive, sometimes brutal honesty that is not harnessed in any way by commercialism or the need to please anyone, in other words, what you see is what you hear. Haigh is currently working on a new CD with producer Lew Curatolo of Apache Ranch Records in Austin and it will be interesting to hear the finished product. For more on Justin Haigh, check out www.justinhaigh.com for a glimpse of what will definitely be “one to watch”. ”
