“The Texas Heat, an Amarillo-based Southern rock and blues band, travels the Lone Star State promising “the tastiest, melt in your mouth Rock N’ Roll around”. And they are certainly a band that delivers!”
“Some of Amarillo’s favorite musicians...”
"It is pretty amazing when a band can do a live recording and make you feel like you are there with them. That’s the exact feeling that I got from listening to the Garage Recordings from The Texas Heat band. “Standing Out On Jackson St.” and “Cryin’ On Christmas” both have a southern rock and blues vibe going for it. Back in the day, there was a saying that Bo Knows, but Bo don’t know nothin’ about how bluesy these guys are dishin’ out great music that moves your soul. My personal favorite, right out the gate, is “Racin’ Jake.” I think it may be the groove of the rhythm section. What can I say? It made me want to dance. Then here comes the awesome guitar solo to blow you away and get the heart pumpin’ a little harder. Over-all, The Texas Heat is one of those bands that don’t even need a recording studio.
"The Texas Heat Band successfully melds the very best of Southern Rock and the Blues creating a sound uniquely their own. "A rockin' good time"
"...The Texas Heat" are craftsmen on stage, and obviously take pride in their work. Their sound continues the strong Southern Rock traditions set by Lynyrd Skynyrd, the Marshall Tucker Band and CCR. The stage set includes dynamite original music and recognizable covers. I especially dug their rendition of the Beatles' "Come Together." In short, "The Heat" are hot!"
“...The Texas Heat started the day off right, they're definitly a must *hear* band! Check them out the moment you get a chance.”
“In keeping with his already successful business model, when it came to the band, he (Ray Wilson) again decided to surround himself with great people.”
