Palm Trees & Power Lines / Press

“Saturday afternoon a local Callahan band rocked the crowd and left their mark. Palm Trees and Power Lines won the 8th Annual Battle of the Bands Competition which took place at the Jacksonville Main Library event complex. The performers exhibited amazing guitar and vocal harmonies as they performed four original songs including "Communication," "I Don't Think She Likes Me," "You'll Be," and "Good Things". The pop punk band pulled the audience out of their seats as they spun, jumped and leaped around the stage. The crowd really became part of the show when a giant beach ball was tossed out and it was catapulted up and down the rows... ...When asked by the emcee of the event Miss Teen Jacksonville about the winning results, Shafer tasso smiled and responded, "It was unexpected and amazing."... ...Band leader Josh Cravey was excited as he told the crowd, "This is our third anniversary as a band, and what a great birthday present it was to win!"”

“For the frontman of the quartet Palm Trees and Power Lines, playing a library was a first. “A library is not the perfect place for a concert,” said 18-year-old Justin Horne of Callahan. “It was like playing a hotel ballroom.””
