feeling is mutual, spent some fine time listening and sharing your lovely stuff. There were some nice reactions on facebook so I'm not alone. Love form Holland!
I find every song so full of nice vibes and atmospheres ... I absolutely appreciate the smart songwriting, I love the the strength and gentleness, at the same time, of the harmonies and melodies ... definitely I like the impressive vocals ... it's a great job ... wow! enjoying ...
I was a street musician, best stage ever. People don't know you so they'll hang around for the songs. As for my work, I only hear what's off, and that is just about everything - nevertheless it's great to be in music. When I was unemployed I taught music and guitar full time, this making music bring in some hard needed money for my kids to go to school. All in all, a rich life. Reverbnation made my world bigger, it "opened" USA for me where I have a lot of really fatastic friends. Reverbnation has been a life chnger that way.
Listening in on your Overview page, I really enjoyed hearing "Phantom Lung". I like how the guitar and melody-line work together to help create a such a tasteful sound. Great Work!
Phantom Lung was the first song I wrote when I got back from chemo therapy. It's based on reality, lung cancer took my right lung. Yet it felt like I was feeling air entering my right lung, the doctor explained how he left the nerve endings to create a "phantom lung" which keeps my body from panicking.
It took 2 years to find a tune that worked. So all the more thanks that you picked thos one out, it is by far one of the most difficult but also rewarding projects I ever did. Thanks for listening!
to add more info about how it all came together: it took me years to find my breath back and find a tune that worked. The chords are Bminor-G-Bminor-A- for the intro, you'll hear them all through the song too, other chores Eminor- A-G-D- (not necessarily in that order, cause I hardly think about what I'm doing - when I'm in a groove these things come unannounced.
The Bminor is in fact a Bminor 7 chord, achieved by wrapping your left hand all around the neck so your thumb can reach the upper E- and A- string. I hope this helps.
I needed a long rest, feeling better than ever, back to writing and playing again. Wish you a great ride in 2021. Love from Holland!
Your still going strong Harry after all these years:)! Glad your still writing and playing your wonderful songs:)! We are all reinventing ourselves now! Namaste Paul
Hello Paul. Well as you may know I had a serious medical overhaul, and now my music is following. I feel the need to be lighter, less dramatic but maybe more serious than ever. However, what I really want is just to celebrate life. It's amiracle, covid and all, we'll weather that one too and in the meantime I have found my voice back, I want to go live as much as possible. Thanks for writing! Love from Holland.
