When perched, the Vesper Sparrow looks similar to several other species of sparrows. But when they sing into a microphone, there is no other like them...

I will add that the Vesper sparrow, while an endangered specie of remarkable songbird, is incredibly long lived and will remain a treasure to all who seek it. For they shall find it.

The Vesper Sparrow inhabits grasslands and fields across much of the north-central United States and Canada. As its name suggests, it often sings in the evening twilight, though it sings actively in early morning as well. When it does, all the other birds stop singing so they can listen...and learn.
