Mister B, Coffee and Cake, Kate! There are just so many good songs here. Today I revisited Pencil: superb lyrics setting a unique, small-town vibe, great melodic progression, and then when you think you've heard the song it takes you to a whole other level.
The Color of The Eve touches me close and it's a new favorite - Your guitars and bass playing and arrangements are excellent -you're a master in that - Your voice here is so special, impressive - Bravo!

"The Color of The Eve" is a winsome, thoughtful caricature of someone recalling sweet, heady memories. Upon initial listen, one may consider the tune "Beatlesque", given the tone of the voice and the sweet acoustic guitar. The listener is drawn in by the delightful, crisp simplicity of the guitar, chords layered with individual picks - flawless - and a clear, ringing vocal which is both mellow and purposeful. The transition to a more layered arrangement is welcome, as the acoustic is then accompanied by keys and drums, lifting the intensity and message without being overpowering. And then, mellow again, back to a lovely combination of voice and guitar. There was one point I thought the song was going to end - and had hoped it would, only because it "felt" right, but this is not a criticism as much as a personal observation of my listening. Tom's talent is solid, unmistakable, and fluid - as he delivers another quality offering to we mere mortals. :) - Chris Munson
