Hi, I'm Glen; a friend of Angelique's from Sofresh and a regular at the Boba House open mic nite, where I recently met Cliff and heard him and Angelique perform. I'm going to pitch an idea to you guys. With your interest in reggae and Angelique's background in classical, I think this would be a doable and awesome experiment. In line with the rock operas of the 70's and 80's, such as the Who's "Tommy" and Pink Floyd's "The Wall", I think this form could re-emerge in other genres. That said, I think Gershwins opera "Porgy and Bess" would be perfect adapted as a reggae opera. The whole story behind Porgy and Bess and it's music and lyrics would work beautifully. Songs like "Summertime" (the classic), "My Man's Gone Now", "Bess, You Is My Woman Now", "It Ain't Necessarily So" and "I Loves You, Porgy" I think would be great as reggae.
