The new Sons of the Addicted album, Fractal World, is quite possibly the best album I have heard all year, perhaps even in several years. It is lyrically smart and witty, giving new ideas and thoughts to ponder while simultaneously tickling a funny bone here and there. Musically, it is a wild ride that kicks down genre barriers and opens up new 'rock based' musical perceptions. "Lucid" is a hauntingly beautiful song that has massive staying power (read: it'll be stuck in your head for weeks). "Never Again" made me feel as though I was riding into battle on the back of a wild stallion, it is nothing short of exhilarating. However, the track that squeezes the giggles and smiles of nostalgia right out of the creases on my cheeks has got to be "I'll Never Smoke Schwag Again (Herb Dream)". This is sure to be the new anthem for college students the world over. All in all, Fractal World is a tremendous album. Don't let your friends borrow this CD, you will likely never get it back.
