Vic you are a sweetie - looking forward to singing with your guitara on Saturday xo
Had a wonderful time yesterday playing at the Vancouver Latin Festival, accompanying the fabulous Edie Da Ponte. So danco Samba, vai vai vai..... The headliner was Adonis Puentes, who arrived with his band while we were just finished our set. On guitar for Adonis was an old friend from Long and McQuade, Amine Said, We saw a demonstration of Capoeira dancing, a fine tradition from Brazil, sort of a community song-and-dance performance which includes elements of martial arts, dance and break-dancing. There were people there from all over Latin America. So good to be a musician. Thank you, Edie!
Had a blast last evening playing bass with the Gypsy Rovers for the monthly Perogy Dinner at the Ukrainian Club in Victoria. So many friendly people gather there to celebrate Ukrainian culture and have a great meal. Also, of course, to enjoy the spirited musical offerings of the Gypsy Rovers.
Just downloaded "El Camino", recorded in John Lovaghy's "Cosmic Forces" studio in Mascouche QC a few years ago, with Danny Camber on drums, Al Vienneau on electric bass making a great groove. Check out Al's beautiful bass solo after my guitar cut. I'm not too happy with my Spanish vocal work, but at least I didn't use Autotune!
I had a fine time last night playing bass with a great little band, The Gypsy Rovers, at Amica Beechwood residence in Sidney. They were having a dance there, and, among other happenings, Nikki led the residents in the Chicken Dance. A fun time.
The BVD's had a great time last night playing for the New Imperial Social Club at their dance at the Chief and Petty Officer's Mess. Those people really like to dance, and we were all treated to a wonderful performance of Irish dance by the O'Brien School of Irish Dance.
