Holy Cow, has this comment thingy been here the whole time? Then I read thru it and I'd have to write a book or two to say a deserving thank you. May this suffice to all who have posted. I just try to listen in every mornin' and I tell you, I haven't enjoyed music so much as I do when I listen to y'all and read some of your stories. You see, I play 30 - 50 hours a weekend and the rest of the week I don't want to see my guitar or listen to the same 25 songs over and over again on the radio. Very good music Ray, awesom. New Orleans knew how to cry a very long time before Katrina came I assure you. Katrina was an astronomical adding insult to injury. This is a very nice country ballad with some excellant finger picking.

I gotta say Ray that it's real spooky that i'm sitting in London with your gorgeous music on my headphones and images filling my tv screen of N'Orleans again being bombarded by a ferocious tempest against it's barriers..just love that "Day New Orleans Cried" track, not just for the beautiful lyric and melody, but for the very effective and uncluttered arrangement..very bluesy gospel. And really love the vocal and lyric for "sinner and me"..you got gallons of soul brother. love your music!
I was with the Red Cross during Katrina. Got to know a whole lot of up close and personal. This is their story, especially Whitney who is pictured with me. She was in the Best Western in Kenner, across from the N.O. airport. I remember the looks of the families when they would arrive at the shelter in Franklin, Tennessee at 3 am. Didn't know where they were. We would get 'em fed and into clean clothes, but one person had to grab their food and do the paperwork. Yeah, Mike, my memory is very clear of Katrina. Your comments come as an honor. The Sinner and Me started as the Singer and me. I am more becoming the entertainer. Couldn't get a story line then the chorus hit me hard, "Sometimes I just wanna give up......... There's a thin line, between the Sinner and Me." It's funny you use the term, soul. I am originally from Detroit, the soul capital. Loved story songs the most. I apologize for runnin' on. I'm a writer. Your kindness means more to me than you might imagine. Thank You very much.
