Unfortunately, I was not able to be there for this week’s TWITTER TUESDAY LIVE, as I was visiting my son and his fiancé, in Queensland, with my husband. Howeve,r as luck would have it, the day of the show it poured down with rain. So, we took ourselves off to a local shopping centre and parked ourselves down with a coffee and tuned in to hear this week’s guest from Canada, HELEN AUSTIN.
Co-hosting with Mark from, the Indianapolis band, The Glass Identity Crisis, was Ken Avery! Poor Helen must have wondered what she had gotten herself into! I did think that Kiva was going to help out also, but no idea what happened to her!
I had to laugh when Mark said that Helen had a very long day and she was hoping that she would make sense!!!!! Helen made great sense - not sure about Ken, though! He was pretty spacey (his words not mine) Lol! Ken, how many beers did you have during the show???? Lol! Anyway, Helen was just awesome and coped with Mark and Ken admirably!
HELEN AUSTIN - is a prolific singer/songwriter from the UK now living on Vancouver Island, BC, Canada. I must say that despite living in Canada for the past 10 years she has maintained her beautiful British accent!
Before she was a singer, Helen was a comedian, but that part of her life is well in the past now and she concentrates on her singing and song writing and of course spending time with her awesome family! I’m wondering Helen if you would like to come out of retirement for a while to write some material for Mark as he tells the worst jokes ever!
Most of Helens songs are happy feel-good songs that brighten up the dullest of days! There was one part in the show when Ken asked her what mood she was in when she wrote songs, and she told us that she was always happy! There was even a song called HAPPY! Seriously though, Helen loves what she does - writing songs and it reflects in the work that she produces!
Helen was wonderful during the show, and talked about her music, her family, her work with TV, her upcoming album and much more! I was so sorry that I had to miss this show, however Helen has promised to come back in April after the release of her new album.
If you have never heard if HELEN AUSTIN before please take the time to download the podcast and here just how awesome she is for yourself:
Helen, I would like to just add, that I was really that I missed talking to you personally on the show, however I will make sure that when you return in April, I will be there! On behalf of Mark and myself I would like to thank you for coming onto the live show and being such an awesome guest! We would to wish you all the very best for 2012!

STARS GO DIM 12 Days of Hope - Raising $12,000 in 12 Days for Convoy of Hope This past August, we had the opportunity to visit Haiti with Convoy of Hope and experience first hand the ongoing relief efforts since the tragic earthquake in 2010. The tragedy stricken land and faces of the people still hold a special place in our hearts. It's an experience that has changed our lives forever.
During our short stay in Haiti, we filmed a music video for our song "Between Here and Now." This song is about finding hope in the face of tragedy and that very moment when life becomes reality. The video contains footage from other tragedy stricken areas of the world where Convoy of Hope has provided their services. We filmed our parts in the ruins of one of Haiti's oldest structures, an 1800's cathedral and also at a several orphanages that Convoy of Hope supports.
In the spirit of giving, help us support Convoy of Hope's ongoing relief efforts by donating to them directly or downloading the Between Here and Now single and/or Album.
Our goal is to raise $12,000 dollars in 12 days! A large portion of the proceeds will go towards the continued efforts of Convoy of Hope around the world.
View the video and donate to Convoy of Hope Here! www.starsgodim.com/hope

A message from KEN of THE GLASS IDENTITY CRISIS
We want your story! Tell us a story about yourself. We want to write a song about it. It's completely confidential, as you all know that we are very vague in writing style anyway. Send it to firstname.lastname@example.org
Feel free to create a bogus yahoo account to send it from and even change the names if you feel so inclined.
Here is the motivation behind this request. At some point, you can become so fucked up, beaten around, lost, cynical, sad, happy, drunk, high, enthralled, deranged, godless, enraged, deluded, etc..., that even your most outrageous feelings don't quite do it for you as a songwriter anymore. Even the fake feelings that you put on to write.
I want you to become me. So shoot your stories to email@example.com
The crazier the better!
Here are the latest batch of songs we have added to the Butterflies rotation. Remember if you would like to hear these songs you can go to our web page and request them:
5th PROJECT - HURRICANE BRAE LENI - BRIDGE CONTRUCTION - SHOT TO KILL BRIDGE CONTRUCTION - SOMEWAY BRUISED ORANGE - SHE'S GONE LONG GONE IMAJ - AMAZING GRACE IMAJ - LOVE ONLY LOVE IREMBERTAPES - GOSSIP JOHN MILLER - FIELD OF GREY JOHN MILLER - UNKNOWN JOHN MILKER - SING SOFTER MATTER OF FACT - PURPOSE MONTE PITTMAN - CLOSE YOUR EYES MONTE PITTMAN - KEEP SHINING MONTE PITTMAN - SOMEWHERE IN THE MIDDLE PSYCHOBUIDINGS - TERRIR MANAGEMENT THE SICK LEAVES - CATFIGHTS IN BUSHES THE SLOW READERS CLUB - SIRENS

Until next time Carol
TodayMark and I had the pleasure of meeting Cincinnati born SHAWN BRAY. Shawn describes himself as a very boring person….well that is not the case, far from it in fact. During the show Shawn had plenty to say! Shawn is our first non-vocalist/instrumentalist to join us on the show.
We had a nice crowd of listeners tune in live. We even had SPACESHIP DAYS who changed their days of rehearsals so that they can tune into the show live instead of the podcast! Lydia from ROSERED AND THE BUTTERFLIES said she listens to TWITTER TUESDAY LIVE over her downloads!
SHAWN BRAY, he takes pride in the fact that he has created his own sound of music, and that he is not following a trend! His music has been described as celestial electro, however for now he is sticking to Electronica. He said he is a bit like a baker, he takes a bit of this and a bit of that, and mixes it all together! Mark has a new word for Shawn, he called him a digital musicologist, he isn’t really sure if that is a word, but he likes it and I think he will patent that word! Lol
About a year ago, Shawn submitted a song to the station called RUSTY AIRWAYS, and Mark liked it so much he pinched it for the theme tune of TWITTER TUESDAY LIVE, unfortunately the royalty cheques seemed to have gone missing as Shawn says he has not received any….hmmmmm lol sorry I can’t say that with a straight face! During the show, we actually played the full version, however we kept expecting Mark to talk over it! You might not know Shawn very well but if you are an avid listener or a downloader of our podcasts you will sure know his music that’s for sure!
Anyway please take the time to listen to SHAWN BRAY for yourself, it is a fun show and I can guarantee that you will have a few laughs!
During the show we also featured three of Shawn’s songs:
ONCE UPON A MORNING
Was written in the early morning hours. I generally write most of my stuff over night and into the early morning. This one was no different but it had came together quickly and I called it Once Upon Morning as it was finished as the sun was coming up.
HYPNO LATIN GROOVE
Is a song that features latin beats which I love. I am very much into Latin and Middle Eastern rhythms and try to experiment with them in songs as much as I can.
Rusty airwaves was inspired by the fact that traditional radio does not do much to support independent music and new media outlets such as the internet has embraced the independent musician and has done so much to get our music heard.
Shawn can also be found at the following social sites
Shawn thank you for joining us on the show today. You were far from boring, in fact towards the end of the show you were really starting to open up! The animal in you started to appear! Lol A good fun show Shawn and good to see you have a great sense of humour, which judging from all your tweets I knew you would have. Mark and I wish your mother a very speedy recovery, please give her our regards!
